The Complaints Commission is a critical arm of the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) handling breaches of the journalism code of conduct by media practitioners.

To improve its work, its commissioners went on a reflection retreat in Mombasa to deliberate on milestones, lessons learnt as well in preparations for the drafting of their end of term progress report.

Chairman William Oketch commended the Commission on the strides and urged the team to sustain teamwork aimed.

This is a chance to reflect on the pending cases and come up with strategies of resolving them within the remaining time,” said Mr Oketch.

Prof Nancy Booker emphasised the importance of codifying the commission’s successes, which can be used as work procedures manual that will aid in record keeping for referencing by the next team.

“As a commission, it is essential that we embrace the idea on publication of case schedule status report as it will act as the Commission’s legacy which will also speak to the journey and success of the team thus far,” said Prof Booker.
