Kantim Mwanik is an educationist, researcher and consultant with over 20 years of experience in university administration, teaching and research. He is a certified monitoring and evaluation professional and ISO Quality Management system’s Trainer and Auditor.
He consults with the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services LTD (UNES), Nairobi, Kenya where in 2021 he was an Education Expert in the Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) Project. The key objectives of the TPAD evaluation process was to; generate good practices; identify lessons learnt and areas for improvement, and; establish the effectiveness of the TPAD to put in a more effective Teacher Appraisal System which is central in improving teacher quality.
Mr Kantim holds a Bachelor's Education (English /Literature) from Kenyatta University and a master’s degree in educational planning from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Certificate in Monitoring Learning Assessments from UNESCO’S Institute for Educational Planning and A Strategic Leadership Development program from the Kenya School of Government among many others.
He is currently finalizing his doctoral studies in Educational Planning at Kenyatta University. He has co-authored a book, Monitoring and Evaluation in Education and Social Sciences.
From 2009-2014 Kantim served as an Assistant Registrar (Performance Contracting and Quality Management Systems) at Maasai Mara University in Narok where he was instrumental in the development and documentation of the quality management system; developing and Integrating of ISO 9001-2008 certification in performance contracting; Team leader ISO/ quality management system Organizing trainings for management and staff; Monitoring implementation of performance contracts in all sections; Negotiating targets with departmental heads and government ministries; Preparing quarterly and annual performance contract reports; Coordinating development and implementation of the University Strategic Plan.
Aug 2014 - Sep 2017 Kantim served as the Chief of Staff, County Government of Kajiado.
